- Decide what you would like to use for the welcome bags. Some ideas for welcome bags include tote bags, paper bags with handles or baskets.
- Cut shapes out of cardstock to write the guests name on and attach to the bag. You could also use something unique, such as luggage tags, to attach to the bags.
- Make guests feel at home in their new surroundings, by placing maps of the area in their gift bags. You can also include an assortment of brochures for local attractions, restaurant menus and suggestions for places to visit.
- Include an itinerary of events for the wedding.
- Include bottled water, as well as an assortment of snack items. Non-perishable items, such as dried fruit, nuts and granola bars will give guests something to snack on as they arrive. You can add a special touch by ordering chocolate bars with personalized wrappers to include in the gift bags.
- Include different items, such as travel-sized shampoo, soap and lotion in the gift bags. You can also add something extra, such as a robe or pair of slippers. For tropical destinations, try placing sunblock and beach towels inside the bag.
- Make special gift bags for children that are traveling to the wedding, and include fun items that will keep them entertained. Some good items to include are coloring books, crayons, puzzles, miniature games, cards and small toys.
