How to Create a Cat-Sitting Flier

One essential tool for marketing your cat-sitting business is a flier.  The flier’s composition and graphical appeal will influence how potential customers view your cat-sitting service.  Just a few simple design techniques can help produce a cat-sitting flier that appeals to customers.

  • Create a large, bold headline advertising the name of your service.  Start your flier by getting the name of your cat-sitting service across to the customer.  A memorable name is often best because many of your new customers will come by word-of-mouth referrals.

  • Add cat photographs to add emphasis.  Wherever you place a photo of a cat will draw a person’s eye, so place these photographs strategically throughout your flier for emphasis.

  • Place your contact information where it will be easy to see.  Your contact information includes your name, your telephone number and email address and possibly links to any social network accounts you have, like Facebook.  To emphasize your contact information, you can place it within a surrounding box to form a border around it.  If you want your contact information on tear-off tabs on the bottom of the flier, you can visit a site like flyertabs.com to create such a design.

  • List any special services you provide.  Somewhere in your flier, list any special aspects of your service that makes your service distinct from other services.  For example, if you have a special cat run in your house or offer complimentary grooming services, then these should be listed in the flier.

  • Test different colors of flier paper to use.  See which color matches your final flier design the best.
