How to Cure Athlete's Foot Naturally

Athlete's foot is known to be one of the most irritating, non-threatening conditions man can suffer. Commonly acquired by walking barefoot in common shower or bathing facilities, like those at a local gym, athlete's foot can cause serious pain and discomfort for those affected and there are times when only a natural cure can save the day.

Apple Cider Vinegar:

  • Create a blend of three parts vinegar to one part water and place in a glass spray bottle. Spray the affected area three times a day, including shoes and common walking areas like bathroom floors or carpeted areas that commonly get wet or moist.

  • If the problem is particularly bad, undiluted vinegar may be used as both a spray and a foot soak.

Cedar Oil:

  • Essential oil of Cedar wood can be an effective way to treat athlete's foot. Combine 6 drops of cedar oil into 1 ounce of a base or carrier oil such as grape seed or apricot oil and place in a hand sprayer.

  • Use on your feet after every bath and spray all potentially affected areas such as shoes, socks and walking surfaces to prevent recontamination.

Grapefruit Seed Extract:

  • This powerful anti-fungal can be taking in supplement form as well as by suspending it in a base or carrier oil in 12 drops per one ounce carrier or base oil such as olive or jojoba oils. Supplements should be taken daily and used in conjunction with the spray.

  • It is important to treat all affected areas the fungus may thrive in, such as old shoes, socks and walking areas.
