How to Cure Infected Body Piercings with a Sea Salt Soak

Body piercings are very popular.  People from all walks of life are getting body parts pierced including the belly button, nose, eyebrow, tongue, nipples and private parts.  Many body-piercing professionals recommend that these piercings be soaked in a sea salt mixture in order to prevent infection.  The sea salt actually helps draw out the infection from the skin.

It is extremely important to learn how to cure an infected piercing.

1.  Purchase sea salt from your local grocery store.  It must be sea salt.  Iodized salt will not work.

2.  Measure two tablespoons of sea salt and one cup of warm tap water.

3.  Mix the sea salt and the water in a small bowl.

4.  Fold a washcloth or paper towel into a small square, approximately three inches by three inches.

5.  Soak the cloth or towel in the sea salt mixture until a majority of the mixture is absorbed.

6.  Place the cloth over the piercing.

7.  Keep the sea salt mixture on the piercing for at least 15 minutes.

8.  Repeat this process at least twice a day until the piercing has healed completely.
