There may come a time when the siding gets damaged and will have to be either repaired or replaced, but this is something that can easily be done.
- Use a tape measure to measure the location where the siding needs to be replaced.
- Purchase the siding needed for the project. If you cannot find the exact color it should be as close to the color of the original siding as possible. Most home improvement stores carry a wide variety of colors.
- Use the measurement you took to cut the siding. You can cut the vinyl once you get it in place, but it is much easier to cut it before putting it on.
- Lay the siding on a flat even surface.
- Use a pencil to mark the measurements on the siding. It is recommended that you double check the measurements before you start cutting the vinyl because there is no way to fix it if you cut it too short.
- Use a handsaw or a utility knife to cut the siding according to the measurements.
