How to Decorate Ears With Stud Earrings

Stud earrings are a type of earring that sits close against your ears without any parts that dangle. They are generally the type of earring that is worn when you initially have your ears pierced. However, they are also frequently worn as a simple yet effective way of decorating your ears.

  1. Decide on a type of stud earring that will best match your style and most of your clothing over the next six to 12 weeks, depending on the type of piercing you've decided on. In most cases a neutral earring such as a diamond, cubic zirconium, plain gold or stainless steel ball makes a suitable choice.

  2. Pierce the lobes of your ears with the stud earrings of your choice. This is commonly the first place that people decorate their ears when deciding to pierce them. You may, however, decide to pierce your ear in other locations such as in the helix.

  3. Purchase several different types of stud earrings if your ears are already pierced or they've healed. While most starter studs are relatively simple in order to prevent accidental pulling or touching, there are different shapes and styles of stud earrings that are available once you can take them out. Buy studs in a variety of shapes and colors so that you can appropriately dress up your ears when desired.

  4. Put in earrings based on what you are wearing, where you are going or your mood of the day. For example, diamond, pearl and CZ earrings are suitable for formal occasions. On the other hand, more playful and colorful earrings can be worn to match your everyday casual wear. Silver and gold stud earrings can appropriately decorate your ears when you want a more conservative or toned down look.
