- Some stain
- Some contact paper

- Frame the window with traditional wood molding. Stain it so that it matches the other wood in your room. You can also use peel-and-stick tiles to create a decorative border around the window.
- Put clear contact paper on the window. It is available in various patterns to make the window look like it has frosted or etched glass. There are also decorative scenes that you can choose from. These are easy to apply with a little soap and water.
- Place a shade over both sides of the window or hang some sheer fabric there. This will decorate the window without blocking the light like bulky draperies would.
- Hang a tension rod above the window then use fishing line to string up some decorative items from the rod. You can use small children’s toys or Christmas ornaments.
- Add a window well cover that will be both decorative and useful if your basement should happen to ever flood. Choose a bright color that you can see through or a stone covering to provide some texture to your window at the same time.
