How to Design Exhibitions
A properly designed exhibition is important to your success in a trade show marketing, as well as building a client base. Careful thought and proper planning can aid your success. Design your exhibition so that it portraits your company's personality and image.
- Determine the purpose of the exhibition. What is the goal you wish to achieve? The purpose and goal determine how you design the exhibition.
- Think about what you would like to showcase and any "feature" items you wish to display. What message do you want to get across to the audience? Posters or pictures on large displays work well to drive a point home. Displays or display cases can be used to showcase products.
- Visit the venue. Decide what size booth you require. Ask for the dimensions of the booth to help you plan your exhibition layout within the parameters of the given space.
- Choose a color scheme. Bright colors attract attention, while light colors portray a professional attitude. The products and personality of your company should be reflected in the colors you choose. Staying within the color scheme of the company logo, displaying letterhead and brochures portrays an organized, well-run business.
- Set up an area where visitors can take brochures, DVDs videos or pamphlets. You want visitors to remember you once they walk away. A simple business card does not bring about product recollection like a full color brochure.
- Create an area where visitors can give their contact information. Ask them to sign up to receive more information or special discounts. Follow-up with a call or email after the exhibition to gain new clients.
