How to Design Personalized Stationery
Sending personalized stationery is a wonderful way to convey an aspect of your personality whenever you send a note or letter. There are lots of design techniques you can use to create a unique and interesting gift for yourself or someone else.
- Try Rubber stamping. There are thousands of stamp designs at your local arts and crafts store, or look in the scrapbooking section of any big retailer, like Wal-Mart. You can also order stamps from companies such as Stampin’ Up or Creative Expressions. You can stamp any kind of design. Initials, borders, scrollwork, return address, you can find a rubber stamp with the design. You can even have stamps custom made.
- Use your computer. Use a word processing program and free clipart you find on the computer to create an interesting design. Experiment with the font, color and size of any text. You can save the design on your computer and print sheets as needed.
- Use die-cutting tools. You can get metal die-cutters that will cut a design into corners or the center of your paper. There are border versions, too and several designs and graphics from which to choose.
- Use a dry embossing tool. It creates a textured imprint on the paper. Commonly available in initials, you can also get assorted floral or border designs.
- Draw your own free style. Create your own design using inks, paints or markers, and then make color copies. This is the most personal design out of any other.
