How to Design Silk Flowers
Silk flowers are beautiful and can be used in many different ways. From home floral center pieces to wedding table arrangements, silk flowers are used in many different ways. Silk flowers put color and beauty into a room. For weddings, silk flowers are a must to make a memorable moment for the bride and groom.
Supplies Needed:
- Flower vase
- Wire cutters
- Floral foam
- Hot glue gun
- Colored ribbon (your choose)
- Straw or moss
- Choose your color chooses to accent the room you are designing the arrangement for. Use several different focal flowers for your arrangements. Add five to six filler flowers and stems. Your filler flowers will accent your focal flowers and add height to your arrangement.
- Arrange your floral foam into the center of your glass vase and glue it in place with your hot glue gun. This will be were the flower stems will be placed.
- Place the filler flowers on the side of the vase. Take one filler flower and cut so that the stem is three to four inches higher than the vase. Place the cut floral stem into the floral foam towards the back of the arrangement.
- Cut each of the focal point flowers with wire cutters and arrange the flowers in the vase. Stagger the filler flowers lower than the focal flowers. This will keep all the flowers visible to the eye.
- Scatter the flowers that are left into the bare spaces in the arrangement. Check that the flowers are all arranged as you would like. Add a ribbon or other embalmment onto the vase for a finishing touch.
