Space the steps in such a way that customers can grab a bunch of smaller flowers from the top of the shelf without damaging the larger flowers on the bottom shelf.

  2. Set up shelving to display other items. Set up a display area for other merchandise, such as cards baskets, vases, potted plants and stuffed animals preferably in the front area of the shop. Place these items on shelves and tables. If you also sell items like candles or jewelry boxes, you need to watch out for shoplifters. Avoid blind alleys or dead ends where you are not able to see customers.

An idea location for a work area is behind or next to the checkout counter so that you can stop whatever you are doing to attend to customers who are ready to order or check out.

  5. Provide a large-sized cooler for large arrangements. Set up a walk-in cooler for those types of arrangements that require a larger space. Choose a location that is between your work area and where you get arrangements ready for delivery.

  6. Set up a consultation area. Create an area where you can meet with customers who are interested in floral arrangement for wedding, funeral, and other important events. Put a table and some chairs in this area of the shop, and provide easily pictures with prices clearly marked. Make it quiet and comfortable.
