How to Lose Weight With a Workout Plan

How to Design a Weight Loss Workout Plan

Diet is just one factor when it comes to losing weight. The most successful weight loss plans will also include working out. Dieting alone is simply not enough for most people. Designing a weight loss workout plan is not that difficult to do if you follow the right guidelines.

  • Know how much time you have to
achieve your goals. If a person is dieting for a beach vacation that
is three months away, that person knows that he or she has three
months to achieve his or her weight loss goal. A person that has
only a couple of weeks to achieve a weight loss goal may have to
design a workout program that is much more intense. Mark your any
target date that you may have on a calendar.

  • Know how much time can be
dedicated to working out. Some people will have more time to workout
when compared to other people. A person that has a full-time job and
has to attend college classes may not have the time to workout every
    single day.

  • Do not just include aerobics in
your workout program. Resistance training is an important part of a
weight loss workout program. Resistance training will help build
and/or maintain muscle mass. Muscle mass helps the body burn
calories. Losing muscle mass can actually make it harder for a
    person to lose fat mass.

  • Dedicate at least one hour a week
to aerobic exercise and one hour a week to resistance training.
These workouts can be broken into workouts of 20 minutes each. You
can also combine a resistance training workout with a aerobic
workout. For example, do 20 minutes of aerobic work and then 20
    minutes of resistance training.

  • Write down the workout schedule in
a notebook. Stick to the schedule that is written down.
