How to Detail a Black Car

How to Detail Car Bumpers

Taking care of your car is important for your image and also one way to ensure the future sales value. Even though the bumper of a car may seem insignificant, this is one of the first parts people see when looking at your vehicle. Detail your bumper and see the difference in how your car looks  from an outsiders point of view.

  • You really cannot do a whole lot with your car bumper until the whole car is washed correctly. Use the same components as you would usually use to wash your car and apply this same technique to cleaning the bumper.

  • Remove any scratches or dings with a polish or scratch remover then allow the directed time to dry before you continue.

  • Using a scratch resistant cloth, buff out any rough services you find before going any further with the cleaning process.

  • Clean the bumper with a chrome cleaning agent if the bumper is composed of chrome versus a solid black bumper. Use a clean rag and apply the cleaning paste, let it sit for approximately two minutes and then dry off rubbing it gently with a seperate towel or rag. You may want to do this several times to clean the bumper in such a way that it is totally free of bugs and and debris.

  • Cleaning a black bumper just requires a rag or towel with very hot water and a few drops of mild dishwash liquid. Rub it back and forth until debris and spots are removed then dry it off with a clean towel.

  • Add wax for a finishing touch. Apply the same wax you use on the rest of your vehicle applying it generously across the bumper. Use another very clean and dry rag to buff out the bumper. It may take a few times rubbing it down before it comes completely clean and full of shine.
