How to Disassemble 36 Volt Battery Boxes
The cost of a 36-volt battery tends to remain on the higher end of the spectrum with regard to battery prices. If consumers experience a 36-volt battery-related problem, they should consider disassembling their battery box prior to purchasing another battery. Doing so could save them money.
Radio controlled (RC) products commonly require a large battery, such as a 36-volt. Due to their size, such batteries come in battery boxes. At times, problems arise and users may need to disassemble their battery box in order to determine the actual cause of such troubles.
Things You Will Need
- Battery box
- Phillips screwdriver
Instructions:
For safety measures, use extreme care when disconnecting and disassembling your battery box to avoid bodily harm and reduce the risk of an electrical-related fire.
- Disconnect your 36-volt battery box from its powering unit.
- Locate all screws underneath the box, searching all sides and corners. Remove these attachments with a Phillips screwdriver.
- Expose the inner mechanisms of the 36-volt battery by lifting apart the top half from the bottom half of the battery casing.
- Pinpoint the rectangular charging module located directly upon the core components. Using the screwdriver remove all screws from the corners of this particular module.
- Lift the metal charging module up from the actual battery box itself, and disconnect the attached charging module’s cables.
- Set aside the charging mechanism and return to the battery box for further work.
- Raise and lift the end caps up - located at each end - within the battery box. Upon disassembly, individually remove the battery cells from the box, as needed.
- Resolve the problem that initiated the disassembly. Proceed as needed.
