How to Display Computer Information on the Desktop
Monitoring a computer's status is the key in determining its overall health. If you keep an eye on the vital signs, you are more likely to catch any issues that can severely damage your PC beforehand. There are several types of programs that allow to display computer information on the desktop.
Instructions:
- Check for pre-installed programs on your PC that will allow you to display your computer's information. It is perhaps the easiest, and quickest, way to display information on our desktop because it takes no effort to get the information it holds. In Windows Vista and later, there are pre-installed programs in the Windows Sidebar program that allows you to check up on and display any information about your computer and its functioning.
- Download Google Desktop onto your computer. Google Desktop is a program similar to Windows Sidebar. This application includes smaller programs called Widgets that help to see information about your computer. It can tell you the processor speed, memory, and processor temperature.
- Install the Samurize program. It is a program similar to the Sidebar application that comes with a Windows PC. It is basically a desktop alternative that creates a custom background. This background can include certain information from your computer, like the processor speed and the memory. The major difference between Samurize and Sidebar is that Samurize looks like it is a part of your computer desktop background, while Sidebar is just as the name describes, in a bar on the side of the screen.
