How to Do Boat Detailing
Detailing your boat can be done to get it ready for boating season or to prepare it for storage for winter. The process of detailing your boat is not that hard, but it does take some elbow grease to get the job done. By following a few easy steps, you can have your boat detailed and looking like new.
Supplies needed:
Boat wax
Cleaning brush
Towels
Window cleaner
Water
Bucket
Cleaning solution
Rubber gloves
Portable vacuum
Vinyl or leather cleaner
Washing rags
Hose
Buffer
Combine the cleaning solution and water in a bucket. Follow the instructions that are on the cleaning solution that you are using. It will tell you how much water to mix with the cleaning solution.
Put on your gloves and begin to wash the boat. Use your washing rags to thoroughly clean the outside of the boat. Be sure to remove all dirt that is on the surface of the boat. Use the cleaning brush on dirt that is hard to remove.
Rinse the outside of the boat with the hose and dry it with the towels.
Apply boat wax to the outside of the boat and go inside the boat when finished.
Start cleaning the inside of the boat. Use the vacuum to clean loose dirt on the floor and on the seats. Use the window cleaner to clean the inside of the windows. Clean the seats with either the vinyl or leather cleaner. The type of cleaner that you use depends on what kind of seats the boat has.
Use your buffer to wax the outside of the boat. Make sure that you thoroughly buff all the wax. Once you have finished waxing the boat, you are done with detailing the boat.
