How to Draw Cool Anime Clothes for Men
Drawing cool anime clothes for men really isn’t any different than drawing any other type of clothing. The only real difference is that the anime style is a lot more simplistic. This is because there aren’t a lot of details included in them.
- Watch various anime television shows. Pay attention to what the characters are wearing.
- Choose what style of clothing you want to draw. This can be anything from a suit to a pair of swimming trunks but it’s always flamboyant and cartoon looking. It will usually have a Japanese style since this is where anime originates.
- Make crisp wrinkles that don’t flow much within the clothing itself to show that the character is moving. For instance, to create realism in a character whose arm is sticking straight up, you will want to draw wrinkles that pull toward his armpit and wrap around his bicep.
- Make stretch marks on the parts of the clothes that overlap the broad areas of his body. Show the shirt stretching tightly across his chest and shoulders by drawing the clothes to fit his form and creating bunches of fabric in those areas that don’t stretch (make small, overlapping, sideways triangles here).
- Show off the clothing’s weight by altering the fabric’ thickness. For instance, create a light t-shirt by making it look thin and flowing but create a pair of wool pants by making them look stiff and rigid. Also, pay attention to your lines as thick pants will have crisp, angular lines while light fabrics will be rounded.
