How to Easily Remove Easy Powdery Mildew

Mildew that forms on plants and grass is commonly powdery and can come in a variety of colors. This type of mildew is easy to remove using all-natural alternatives or commercial anti-fungal sprays designed to treat this common problem. Choose the method that you prefer to easily remove powdery mildew from your plants or grass.

  • Use milk as a natural alternative to chemical pesticides. Using one part skim milk to eight parts water will create a solution that is strong enough to remove the powdery mildew that has formed on your plants or grass. Apply this milk product using a standard household spray bottle.

  • Remove any piles of grass or other yard waste right away. Yard waste can cause mildew to form and spread throughout the yard if the problem is not treated. You should also keep your bushes, shrubs and flowers properly pruned as well to prevent dead leaves from mildewing which can spread to other areas.

  • Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda for each cup of water that you are using to create a cleaner that will effectively kill and remove powdery mildew. Spray down the affected areas with this baking soda solution to naturally kill and remove the mold that has formed.

  • Crush a few cloves of garlic using a standard household garlic press. Add this crushed garlic to a standard household spray bottle, and then fill the bottle the rest of the way with water. Garlic contains sulfur which is able to kill mold naturally.

  • Add a dehumidifier to your home if you are experiencing this type of mold on indoor house plants. Mold forms when the conditions are warm and humid, so reducing the humidity inside the home will prevent this from occurring.
