How to Fax Online for Windows
Windows allows you to fax on Windows with new software. This makes it so much easier to fax and you are not required to have a fax machine everything is done directly online. "Windows Fax and Scan" is the program that you use to fax using Windows.
- Connect a fax modem either to your computer or network. You will not be able to use the Windows fax program if you do not have a fax modem connected.
- Click the "Start" button on your computer that is located on the left-hand side of the desktop taskbar. Select "All Programs" from the start menu.
- Search through the programs for "Windows Fax and Scan" and select that program.
- Click on the "New Fax" button to open up the window to begin a new fax. This button is located at the top of the window on the left hand side of the toolbar.
- Select the option of whether you want to send a fax from a modem that is on your computer or from a modem that is connected to your network.
- Enter the fax number of the fax machine into the "To" field that you would like to send the fax to. In the main text box enter the message for the fax that you would like to send. You can also scan any documents to add to the message, if needed. To send the message click on the "Send button." The program will then deliver the message directly to the fax machine.
