How to Find Affordable Motorcycle Insurance

There are many laws for motorcycle drivers and it is illegal to drive a bike on the road without motorcycle insurance. The cost of insurance can be very expensive and shopping around with different providers is the easiest way to get the best price on a policy, and to make the coverage more affordable for the driver.

  1. Go to a search engine like Google or Yahoo and type in the key phrase “compare motorcycle insurance” and then click on the search button.

  2. Read the list of different sites and choose one near the top of the list. The site will ask for the driving record and personal information of the driver, along with the information about the bike that is going to be insured. Type all of the information in that is required and submit it.

  3. Go through the results of the prices from the different insurance providers. On a comparison site there will be many different providers to choose from, and write down the three lowest provider’s quotes with the company information. Go to each individual company’s website and search for a local agent.

  4. Email or call the local agent for all three companies and ask them if they would be willing to match the price of the other providers, to get the most affordable price on the policy. In most cases you can fax or email them the quote, and they will do their best to give you a lower offer.

  5. Call the local credit unions or a couple of small insurance providers where you live to ask them for a quote on the policy. Sometimes they will have lower rates, or they also may compete with the larger companies to get the business.

  6. Look at your other insurance policies and try grouping them all together to get the best deal on all of your insurance. Getting affordable motorcycle insurance will be easy if you combine with policies such as dental or homeowners insurance that you already have, and try quoting out multiple different policies with a new provider as well.
