How to Find Bridal Consulting Jobs

Working as a bridal consultant involves finding brides and walking them through all aspects of the wedding planning process. Most brides hire a bridal consultant because the bride is too busy to handle all the wedding details. The bride might not know what to ask for or whom to ask regarding planning a wedding.

  • Contact bridal consulting associations. Find out whether it's required for you to obtain a certification to operate and practice as a bridal consultant. Even if a certification isn't required, a certification adds to your credibility. After you have done what is legally required, register your services as a bridal consultant.

  • Attend bridal fairs and conferences. Be ready to pass out business cards and fliers to attract business. If you can afford to, register for your own business booth at the bridal fair to reach out to brides directly. Make sure that your print advertising has your phone number and website information on it.

  • Create a bridal consultant website, and register a domain name for your business. You can find brides online and direct them to your business website. You can find a simple website creator, or you can have someone design a professional website for you.

  • Contact established bridal consultants. One might need an intern. Don't be afraid to volunteer your services. When you get the position, don't steal your mentor's clients or leads. As an intern, you are present simply to assist your mentor. When you feel confident enough, you can market yourself to find your own clients. Your bridal consultant mentor can serve as your reference.
