How to Find Deals for Automobile Insurance Rates
Finding deals for automobile insurance rates can be difficult. There are different ways to find deals on automobile insurance, such as asking friends and family, calling local auto insurance companies, and checking the Internet. In addition, signing up for more than one service can make auto insurance cheaper.
- Ask friends and family - If you know someone who got a great deal on auto insurance, ask them about the company they got their auto insurance through. While not everyone will get a great deal with the same auto insurance carrier, it doesn't hurt to ask first. If you go to an auto insurance agent and tell them a client referred you, you may be able to get a better rate than someone who calls out of the blue.
- Let your fingers do the walking - Get out the phone book and call some of the local auto insurance agents in your area. Find out what kind of options they offer on their insurance packages and see if you can run a quote.
- Check the Internet - Many insurance companies have websites with forms you can fill out for an online quote. Before you fill out anything, make sure that the insurance company is licensed to do business in your state, and that they have a good reputation. You may be able to find customer reviews online as well.
- Compare rates - When comparing rates, don't just look at the prices, but also look at what you're getting for the rate you're being quoted. One company may have a slightly higher rate, but there may be additional services offered, such as towing or roadside assistance, where another company may not offer one of these services.
- Sign up for more than one service - Buying different types of insurance with the same company can often lower your rates. For example, many companies will give you better rates if you have both auto and home owner's or renter's insurance with them. In addition, some insurance companies offer other products in addition to insurance. They may also offer checking or savings accounts.
