  1. Create a list of businesses in your area.   You will want to know the name of the business, the owner, the address, a telephone number and web page, if possible.  To find reputable businesses in your area conduct a search on MerchantCircle using the area zip code. Use a reputable search engine to find additional businesses in your area.

  3. Send this letter to all the businesses on your list.  You may even want to include family, friends or co-workers in this list.  Some people may not be able to sponsor you as a business, but they may like to make a donation to help you succeed.  Be sure to include your contact information so they can let you know if they will be able to sponsor you.

  4. Email the letter to any businesses that have a contact form on their website.  This will save you money for mailing. Wait about a week for letters to arrive at the businesses.

  5. Call the businesses as a follow-up to your letter.  Ask the owner if he or she has any questions or concerns about the letter and if he or she would be able to help sponsor your dirt track racing endeavors.

  6. Send thank you cards to every business who agreed to financially support your efforts.
