How to Find Estate Agents

Estate agents are located throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. They perform the same job function that real estate agents do in the United States. Renting, selling and managing different properties are their primary job responsibilities. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, when sellers are ready to place their property on the market, they tend to contact estate agents first.

  • Search online for estate agents.
Many estate agents maintain their own websites or work for
companies that have websites. These websites list the agent's
expertise, qualifications and the various properties that the agent
represents. Looking online for an estate agent is both quick and
    convenient.

  • Ask for a referral. If you are
having trouble locating a good real estate agent, ask other people
who have already utilized his or her services. Many estate agents
rely on word of mouth from existing customers to attract new
    customers.

  • Check to make sure that the estate
agency is with a certified agency. It is easy for anyone to start
his or her own agency and start to manage properties. Two agencies
that ensure that all regulations are met are The National
Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) and The Association of
    Residential Letting Agents (ARLA).

  • Place an advertisement in the
local newspaper. Although it is a nontraditional way to attract an
estate agent, it can still yield great results. Try placing the ad
in a business directory or another publication that caters to people
in the real estate profession. List the information about the
property that you want to sell, and include all pertinent information
such as your name, address and contact number.
