How to Find Horse Riding Stables

If you have a horse that you ride often, you need to find a good riding stable to house it in.  Look around at various stables and ask people you know for recommendations so that you can find a stable that will be the best fit to safely and cleanly board your horse.

  • Look in your local phone book or online to find listings for horse riding stables in your area.  Choose a few of the listings that you have found and call the stables to see if they have any availability.  Visit the stables that have space to take in your horse and see if the facility offers what you are looking for.

  • Ask any family members or friends that ride horses if they can recommend a stable to you.  It is best to find a stable that is recommended by someone you trust  so that you know that your horse will be well taken care of.

  • Ask other riders at horse shows that you attend what stables they use or recommend.  Many riders attend horse shows giving you the opportunity to ask around to see what stables have the best reputation among fellow riders.  Make sure to ask specific questions about horse stables if you find an individual who highly recommends a stable that they use.

  • Locate national equine associations online and see if there are any stables listed under these organizations.  Stables that are registered under a national organization are generally of high quality and have good standards for safety and cleanliness.

  • Ask the veterinarian that treats your horse if they know of a good riding stable that you can take your horse to. A professional such as a veterinarian will be helpful in this area because they will only recommend a stable if they are sure that it has a good reputation.
