How to Find Local Plumbing Services

No matter where you live, you have access to some resources to find local plumbing services. Local plumbers are listed in phone books and advertise in newspapers and local publications. Don't forget to ask friends and family for their recommendations for a local plumber, too.

Finding Local Plumbing Services in the Phone Book

You will find plumbing services in the business listings in your phone book. They are usually in the section with yellow pages. Listings are categorized alphabetically. Look in the top corners of the pages for the Plumbing Services category in "P."  Look for the "Plumbing Contractors" section and find the ones nearest to you.

Finding Local Plumbing Services Through Advertising

Not all plumbers advertise in the phone book because it may be cheaper for them to advertise elsewhere. And some newspapers organize their advertisers for services in one section, but that's not always so. Pore through your local newspapers or shopper publications to spot local plumbers who advertise there. Some advertise on the radio regularly, while you might see plumbing service trucks driving through your area frequently, too.

Finding Local Plumbing Services by Asking Around

Chances are your family members, coworkers and/or friends have had to call on a plumbing contractor a time or two. They are a valuable resource of information in that regard because they can tell you whether they were pleased with that plumbing contractor or not, and they will make recommendations depending on their satisfaction or displeasure with the service they received.
