How to Negotiate With New Home Builders

How to Find Log Home Builders

When ready to build a log home look on the Internet to find a builder.  Many websites feature log homebuilders in various regions.  Visit your local chamber of commerce to obtain a list of local builders.  Talk to other people who are building or already live in log homes.  Word of mouth is very important, too.

  1. Log onto the web and visit International log builders.  Search by builder or by state.  You will find a list of log home building companies in the United States and Canada.  Select the area of your choice.  Information about the builder includes name, address, phone number, email and a link to their website.

  2. Visit loghome.com where you will search for builders by state.  They have sample home plans available to look at.  Various people blog about their experiences when building and living in log homes. Links to these blogs are available on loghome.com.  They share good and bad experiences.  Reading the blogs can provide a potential log homebuyer with some good leads.

  3. Visit True North log homes website.  There you will find a list of log homebuilders arranged geographically and alphabetically.  They have an extensive log home gallery.  The gallery covers rustic retreats to distinctive family homes.  True North has a book of log home plans available to purchase on the website.

  4. Visit your local chamber of commerce or local chapter of the Home Builders Association.  They can put you in touch with a local builder.  These organizations publish business directories with a list of their members.  They maintain databases of work done by their members.
