How to Find Notaries in Your Sate

A Notary Public is necessary for documentation witnessing, especially for legal documents. It makes the document official when it has the Notary Public stamp on it and is signed and dated. You do not think about notaries until you need one; often people have no clue where to turn to find one. A Notary Public can be found everywhere, which adds to the confusion.

  1. Check your local area for a UPS
Store. All these stores across the country offer notary service
along with copying and faxing. They do charge a fee but
it is reasonable and when you need something notarized, they are
    quick and convenient.

  2. Go to your local bank. There is
always a notary on sight at a bank, and if you have an account with
them there is typically no charge. If you do not have an account
with the bank, you can still get your documents notarized, it just
might cost you a few dollars.

  3. Ask whoever gave you the
documents to have notarized if they are familiar with any notaries
in your state. Most will offer you some tips and may even offer it
to you free of charge or reimburse you. However, having a single
notarized document with the official stamp should cost you no more
than $5.00. Multiple documents may cost a bit more.

  4. Search online along with your zip
code. For instance, head to any search engine and type in “Notary
Public your zip code” and press enter. This will bring you a
list of notaries that are very near to your home or place of
    business.

  5. Ask the company you presently work
for. Often, they may have a Notary Public right on the premises and
you never knew it because you did not need the service before. If
they do not have one, they can certainly point you in the right
    direction.
