How to Find Radio Ratings

Radio ratings can be important to advertisers. If you have a product or service that you wish to advertise, you want to advertise on a radio station that has high ratings. A radio station with high ratings reaches more potential customers for your product or service. You may also find that certain periods of the day have higher ratings then other time periods.

Supplies needed:

  • Computer

  • Internet access

  1. Determine what you will be analyzing about the radio ratings. Know if you will be doing ratings for the whole day, or if you just want to know about a certain time frame. For instance, you may wish to know the ratings that a radio station has for the afternoon rush hour time frame. By knowing what you want to analyze, you can save time when looking through the ratings.

  2. Go to the website for Arbitron. The website is arbitron.com Arbitron has ratings for all the radio stations in the United States. You will have to sign up and pay a fee to access the radio ratings. These ratings are very accurate and are the best that you can buy. If you are just doing a simple research project, then you may not want to pay the fee that Arbitron charges. In that case, you may wish to go to allaccess.com and find radio ratings there. The ratings offered at allaccess.com are not as accurate as the ratings offered by Arbitron, but you do not have to pay a fee to access the ratings.

  3. Enter the radio station that you wish to know about. If you wish to know about a specific radio show or time frame, enter that information into the website. You will be given the ratings for the station and the time frame that you have indicated.
