How to Find a Bargain on a Home Appliance

When you need new appliances for you home, you may be worried about the expense of purchasing these appliances. Retail prices can often send you in to sticker shock at first. If you want to find the best bargain on home appliances you will need to shop around for the best deal, or purchase secondhand appliances.

Bulletin Boards

Many people list items for sale on the bulletin boards of local stores. These listings are usually for secondhand items but may occasionally be for new items as well. Check the local bulletin boards in your area to see if anyone has the type of appliance that you are looking for listed for sale. Take down the phone number of the seller so that you can call them later with any questions that you have.

Newspaper

The classifieds section of your local newspaper is a great choice for locating appliances secondhand. You will need to purchase a copy of your local newspaper or check their website for listings of appliances that are for sale in your local area. You can use the search bar to quickly find the type of appliance that you need.

Retail Sales

Most appliance manufacturers release the newest models of their appliances during the months of September and October. For this reason, many appliance dealers run their best sales at this time to reduce their current inventory to make room for the new models that are going to be coming in.

Garage & Estate Sales

Many people put their secondhand appliances in their garage, yard or estate sales. Look in the classifieds section or on craigslist to find out where these sales are going to be occurring near you. You should also look for town wide sales or block sales where you can find more sales all close together.
