How to Find a Cheap Notebook Computer

The prices of notebook computers have really come down over the last few years and while it is still possible to drop a bundle on a computer it is not always wise.  By doing a little bit of leg work and following these suggestions you can find a cheap notebook computer that will let you surf the web and perform all the other activities that you desire.

Do your research and look online - There are many sites on the Internet that will help you save money on a notebook computer.  Technology is changing so rapidly, that while the computers listed may not be the latest and greatest on the market, they will more than meet the average persons needs.  Many sites will allow you to do comparisons between the models that you are considering. Do your research and determine how much ram and memory that you are looking for and read the reviews to see what other owners have to say.

Look at resell and auction sites - eBay, craigslist and others have computers listed everyday.  Let the buyer beware since many of these sites do not offer any type of warranty but it is possible to find a cheap laptop that is in good condition.  craigslist has a lot of them listed at the end of the college semesters when students are attempting to sell everything that they have to go home.

Visit computer repair or resell stores - Many times people are not willing to pay the cost of repairing the systems that they already have since laptops have gotten so reasonable.  They will often let the repair store have them or trade them in for a small discount towards a new system.  The repair shop in turn will fix them and resell them to someone else.  These locations will often offer a small on-site warranty so make sure that you ask them about it prior to purchasing one.

Look in your Sunday paper - Many places will offer deals on laptops to grab you and get you in the store.  They will then show you the latest systems that are more expensive but if you stick to your plan you can often find a really great deal on a cheap computer.
