How to Find a Free Publisher

When you write a book, a publisher will help you publish the piece so that the book is available for sale to others. A publisher can be an expensive aspect of publishing, but you can find a publisher for free by doing some research.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Manuscript

  • Internet access

  • Local advertisements

  • Publishing company

  • Contact with publishers

  • Knowledge on self-publishing

  1. Do an Internet search to find a list of publishers available in the area.

  2. Contact the publishers and ask them for a price quote. This quote provides you with an estimate of the price they require for publishing.

  3. Ask publishing companies for the names and numbers of any local free or low cost publishers in the area.

  4. Find a publisher who will work for a revenue payment. This type of publisher does not ask for any upfront fees. Payment is required once the book begins to sell.

  5. Publish the book yourself. As an independent publisher, you can avoid paying a publisher and any revenue you generate will be yours.

  6. Submit your manuscript to a publishing company. If the company likes your manuscript, they will provide you with publishing free of cost.

  7. Post a help wanted advertisement. Asking for a publisher free of charge in the local advertisements can help you find these services.

  8. Contact publishers outside of the area. If you cannot find a free publisher locally, you may be able to find one located in a different area that can work with you at a distance.
