How to Find a Krav Maga Class
Krav Maga is a martial art used for self defense as well as attacks. This martial art is primarily reserved for training special forces and is used by some law enforcement organizations. However, there are Krav Maga classes available to the public as well.
- Search the phone book for martial art facility locations. Try to find one that offers Krav Maga classes. Krav Maga is becoming a more popular martial art, but unless you live in a largely populated area, you may not be able to find a class near enough to you. Try looking online for Krav Maga listings in your area as well.
- Make sure you find a reputable place to practice. As with all martial arts, being taught Krav Maga by someone who is not qualified and highly experienced in the martial art may actually hinder your progress in learning it.
- Consider buying Krav Maga instructional DVDs or subscribing to classes over the Internet. When you live in a remote area where Krav Maga classes aren't available to you, this may be your best option. Because Krav Maga deals with holds and positioning, learning Krav Maga by DVD or through online classes may be difficult without a partner. You should find someone else who is also interesting in learning the martial art to train with you.
- Make sure the instructor on the DVD or online is a reputable one. Just like with local classes it's important the your instructor actually is capable of teaching Krav Maga correctly in order for you to be successful using the martial art.
