Tips for Buying Below Wholesale Price

How to Find the True Wholesale Price

Whether you are looking for products that you can use yourself or resell for profit, buying wholesale can save you a lot of money.  There are dozens of wholesalers online who claim that they have the best deals on the market, but that’s not always the case.  To find out the true wholesale price of any product, compare different retailers to determine which wholesalers offer the best prices for the same products.

  • Do some research about the wholesale retailers you are interested in. Many people don’t realize that the definition of what makes any business a wholesaler doesn’t always mean the same thing.  True wholesalers have an agreement with the manufacturer.  They purchase items straight from the factory without paying a sales tax, so they can afford to sell products at lower prices.  Other wholesale merchants are not officially authorized distributors, and they purchase discounted items at sales and outlets.  For this reason, their prices are higher than true wholesale prices.

  • Set up accounts at different online wholesale websites.  Some online wholesalers offer members lower prices and specials.  You will also be able to contact a sales representative that can stay in touch with you about the day-to-day price fluctuations of different products.  Keep in mind that many reputable wholesalers do not require you to pay before setting up your account.  Avoid websites that demand a fee before working with you.

  • Compare prices at different wholesale retailers.  Sometimes it’s unclear whether a wholesaler is an authorized distributor or simply a bulk reseller.  One easy way to find out which store is offering products at true wholesale prices is to compare them.  Remember that you must compare the same quantities or single units to get accurate results because wholesale prices can vary dramatically based on the size of your order.

  • Check prices on auction sites and at large discount stores.  To get an idea of a true wholesale price of any product, look at prices on auction sites like eBay and at warehouse stores that are known to carry discounted stock.  These are usually representative of current true wholesale prices.
