How to Fix a Curly Wig
Whether you wear a curly wig for fun or to enhance your appearance, you want your wig to look good at all times regardless to whether you are using synthetic or human hair wig. However, fixing a curly wig sometimes is an arduous task, but it is not as complicated as you may think.
Materials
- Curling iron
- Wide tooth hair brush
- Hairspray
- Wig shampoo
- Shampoo synthetic curly wig with wig shampoo in warm water and rinse. Place the wig on a stand and dry the wig completely. Remove tangles by brushing with the wide toothed brush going in the same direction of the wig structure. If you own a human hair wig, you can use a mild shampoo instead of the wig shampoo, and dry as normal. Human hair does not tangle as much as synthetic hair, so it does not require as much care as synthetic hair.
- Brush the curly hair wig to remove all knots and to ensure flatness. Take your time, especially if you have synthetic hair, which requires additional brushing than human hair.
- Take the hair and part the hair into small sections equaling approximately one inch in diameter.
- Get your curling iron and turn it on the medium temperature setting. Take the curling iron and place the iron over one of the hair section you created earlier.
- Twirl the selected hair section around the curling iron barrel rolling it up towards the wig base. Keep the hair in place for at least two or three seconds. Release the hair strand by pulling the curling iron back in a straight motion to give the curl body.
- Take your favorite hairspray and spray two or three squirts of the hairspray directly on the wig to keep the curl you created in place.
- Curl all the sections in the same manner as step three and spray after with the hair spray. Do this until you have curled the wig completely and achieved the look you want.
