How to Fund Art Projects

Art is very meaningful because it is how some people express themselves using creativity. Kids use their imagination all the time to create art. Art is an activity that has and will be around for a very long time, especially in educational programs. Funding art projects can get very costly, and it is not always easy to find the money.

  • Apply for grants from different organizations and businesses. Organizations such as Arts USA and ARCO Foundation, offer grant money to help with art projects. Visit these and other organizations website online to find application, registration and deadline information to apply for grants.

  • Apply for grants that are available through the state and federal government. The grant amount can vary depending on the state level. To find state and federal grant opportunities, check the state government website. For example, the National Endowment for Arts offers up to $150,000 in grant amounts.

  • Try different fundraising ideas that are creative. Set up bins for people to recycle ink cartridges, cell phones and other recyclable items. Send the recyclable items to places such as Recycle Rewards, Funding Factory or Global Re-Source Funding. These companies, along with others, will help work with you to get the money you need for your art projects.

  • Find local sponsors to help contribute to your art projects. Throw an event to help raise money to fund your art. Chose a location for the event and get a live band or DJ. Do a lot of advertising and charge a small admission fee.

  • Sell different products such as candles, candy bars or magazine subscriptions for more fundraising. Look online for companies that offer fundraiser products. Let kids sell to their family and friends, and the parents can sell at work.
