If you have the dream of becoming a hairstylist, you will first need to go to cosmetology school if you want to be successful. The school will teach you all of the techniques and skills you need to be able to keep up with the ever-changing hairstyles.

9. Compare the prices and classes offered to determine which school best suits your needs. 


10. Apply for grants and student loans if you do not have the money to pay for the classes upfront. 


11. Apply to the school that offers the education and instruction that you are seeking in a cosmetology school.

It is important for you to make sure that any hair design school you attend is nationally recognized and properly certified. To legally style hair, you must have certification from a school that is state certified. You can find out about a school's certification by simply asking the counselor to see documentation regarding the school's certification.
