How to Get Rid of Fleas
Fleas prefer humidity and warmth, therefore they are more prevalent during the summer months. Fleas are not only an annoyance to your pet, they can invade your home and bite humans as well. You can get rid of fleas by following a few simple steps.
How to Get Rid of Fleas
1. Purchase commercial grade pest control for fleas. Contact your local pest control company for recommendations.
2. You will also need to purchase a growth regulator which will interrupt the life cycle of the flea.
3. Combine the pest control with the growth regulator. Follow instructions and wear a mask to avoid contamination. Most flea pest control products require that pets and people remain away from the home until the product dries.
4. Spray carpets and all upholstery with mixture.
5. You must also give your pet(s) a flea dip at the same time. Your pets(s) must be rid of fleas so they do not re-infest the home.
6. It is a good idea to also treat your lawn with a pest control for fleas if your pet is often outdoors. Products like Advantix, available through your veterinarian, can keep your pet from becoming flea infested.
