How to Get Sponsorships for Racing

The biggest obstacle in racing is obtaining sponsorships. They are critical to a team's success just like tuning an engine's chassis to obtain more horsepower. There are basic rules to follow when doing research for a sponsor. This article will instruct you on how to get sponsorships for racing.

How to Get Sponsorships for Racing

  1. Begin search for sponsors within a 25 miles radius of the track where you will be racing. There should be an ample amount of businesses within that range that will be a great fit for the team.

  2. Choose and image that is right for the team and that appeal to potential sponsors. Create a website for the racing team so sponsors can see what your team is about.

  3. Contact potential sponsors in the area to set up a meeting.

  4. Create a proposal to attract sponsors. Make sure that each proposal targets each sponsor specifically. Highlight the value of their investment offers. Also include any expense that you incurred during your last season. Gather history of your race career to team career and include biographies of each person in the proposal. Present the proposals at the meeting.

  5. You will keep sponsors if you do everything possible to create the amount of exposure they ask for. Always give the track information about your sponsor to maximize exposure.
