How to Get a CCRN Certification
Obtaining a nursing diploma or degree is the first step in how to get a CCRN certification. Passing an advanced life support and heart monitoring course is highly recommended. Working with someone trained in a clinical setting with critically ill patients is the best way to obtain the experience needed to pass the test. The test covers all aspects of dealing with critically ill patient scenarios, and a good knowledge of emergency equipment is vital.
- Research the CCRN certification requirements for your area. This test is relatively hard, and the candidate should have a good background in working with acutely ill patients of all ages. The test is broken down into sections according to a patient’s weight and size.
- Obtain your degree as a registered nurse. A licensed practical nurse can work under an RN's supervision in come states. There are a certain number of hours that are required prior to sitting for the exam. There are a certain number of these hours that must be fulfilled within a close timeframe to taking the exam.
