How to Get a Copy of Certified Nursing Certificate

A certified nursing assistant is responsible for helping to care for a person that is either disabled or just needs a little extra help with everyday tasks. When it comes to working as a CNA as they are often called, it is required that you have a certificate to prove that you have completed the appropriate training.

  1. Complete all the required training according to your place of employment. Some companies may require more courses or less depending on what you do at work.

  2. Locate your state nurse aide registry at its physical location or online. This will be the same place that you originally licensed your certified nursing assistant certificate.

  3. Read the requirements for obtaining a copy of your CNA certificate. It may vary with each state. Some places may allow you to request a copy online while others may require you to do it in person. Fill out the application as it suggests.

  4. Pay any associated fees as well as prove your identity with the required documentation that is asked of you. In most cases, this is a state issued identification card as well as a social security card showing the same name. Your social security number or your certification number if you know it is what is going to be used to look up your certified nurse assistant certificate.

  5. If you have purchased your copy of your certified nursing assistant certificate online, allow seven to ten business days for it to arrive in the mail. If you have gone into the establishment to get a copy, you may be able to leave with it.
