How to Get a Florida Drivers License

Getting a drivers license is an exciting experience. Each state has different requirements for getting a drivers license. Knowing what you need to do to get your license can make the process easier and stress-free. This article is a step-by-step guide on how to get a Florida drivers license.

Step 1: You will need to find your birth certificate and another public document that has your name on it, such as a library card. You will need to bring these with you to the Department of Motor Vehicles or DMV when you go to get your drivers license.

Step 2: Complete a driver's education course and obtain a driving permit. You must have your driving permit for one year without any traffic violations before you can apply for a drivers license in the state of Florida.

Step 3: If you are a minor applying for your license you will need to have your parent sign a form that says you have had 50 hours of driving time with 10 of them being at night.

Step 4: The current cost of a Florida drivers license is $48. The license renewal fee is the same.

Step 5: Pass a hearing, vision, road signs, road rules and driving test. These are all administered by the DMV and are required before you can receive your Florida drivers license.
