How to Get a Quote for Automotive Insurance

Once you gather some important information like your driving record and the year, make and model of your vehicle, getting a quote for automobile insurance is an easy process.  You can talk with a representative over the telephone or submit information online.  Either way, you will have a quote for your automobile insurance within 48 hours.

Getting a Quote via Telephone

  1. Call a reputable insurance agent or insurance company.  If you do not know which one you’d like to call, look for companies listed on MerchantCircle.  This website will provide you with company information along with customer reviews so you know you are calling a reputable company.

  2. Tell the representative that you would like to get a quote for automobile insurance.  If you already have an insurance policy, provide the information from you declarations page to compare policies similar to the one you currently have.

  3. Answer the questions as the representative asks them.  He or she will ask for your name, address, city, state, zip, birth date, age and contact information.

  4. Tell the representative about your vehicle, including the VIN number, year, make and model.

  5. Let the representative know about your current driving record.  Tell him if you have had any accidents or tickets in the last three years.

  6. Allow the representative time to input your information into their system.  He may call you back at a later time or send a quote to your email address.  You can even visit with an agent to make changes or find ways to save money in the quoted insurance policy.
