How to Make Your Jeans Look Vintage

How to Give Yourself a Vintage Look

Many of the looks of yesterday are considered stylish by some people.  In order to give yourself a vintage look you have to know what type of vintage look you’re going for. Finding the right items for your vintage look can take time, patience and money.

  • Look at the fashions from previous decades and see which ones you like the best. You can go online or look in old fashion magazines to see these vintage looks. Many people wore bell-bottom jeans in the 1960s and 1970s, for example. A vintage look could also be achieved with a different hairstyle. The Beatles wore mop tops back in the 60s and mullets were a popular hairstyle in the 1980s.

  • Go to online auction sites and search for vintage clothing. One auction site where you can possibly find a lot of vintage clothing is eBay. You might not have to spend as much money for vintage clothing from an auction site as you would at a vintage clothing store.

  • Visit a hairstylist and have them give you your favorite vintage hairstyle. You could go for the Elvis look if you wish.

  • Visit stores in your area that sell old clothing. You might be able to find some vintage attire at your local mission, Goodwill or thrift shop. It is important to check these types of stores frequently because inventory comes and goes every single day.

  • Go through your mom and dad’s collection of old clothing. They may have something stowed away from back in their teenage days that can help you achieve a cool vintage look.
