How to Give Yourself an At-Home Spa Facial
Not everyone has the money to spend on a professional facial. Spa facials can cost you up to two hundred dollars per session and it can really add up over time. If you want to nourish, exfoliate and keep your skin looking rejuvenated, you can do it at home for about twenty dollars.
Things You'll Need:
- Exfoliating cream
- Large bowl
- Skin cleanser
- Washcloth
- Honey
- Dry Towel
- Moisturizer
- Cleansing your face is the very first step in the at home facial treatment. Use your face cleanser and a warm damp washcloth. Make sure to remove any dirt, makeup, grime and oils from your skin so that it is fresh and clean. Use your dry towel and dry off your face.
- Exfoliate your skin. Use your exfoliating cream and rub it on your face with a damp facial sponge or pad. Make sure you pay special attention to your forehead, around the nose and cheeks. Let the exfoliating cream sit on your face for a good 5 minutes, clean, rinse it off and dry your face.
- Steam your face. Use the large bowl; fill it up with very hot water. Place your face right above the bowl, using a washcloth to cover your face. Steaming your face allows your pores to open up and breathe. Do this for approximately ten minutes.
- Use the honey as a mask. Store bought honey will work just as well as those facemasks you can buy in stores. Put some on your palm and smear it on your face, try to get as much of your face covered. Leave on the honey mask for a good 15 minutes and then peel it right off and wash off any particles left on the skin with a warm damp washcloth.
- Moisturize your face. Use the moisturizer you normally use in the mornings or evenings. Give your face a good coat and rub it into your skin. Allow a few minutes for it to dry.
