How to Grow Potted Plants
Growing a plant in a pot allows a person to move it from place to place before transplanting it into their garden. A gardener also has the ability to put whatever type of soil they wish into the pot. Some gardening tools are needed to grow potted plants.
Items needed:

- Pick a pot that is large enough to hold the plant you wish to grow in it. There should be holes in the bottom of the pot for excess water to run out of. Remember to account for the roots when choosing a pot. The roots of a plant usually reach about half the length of its height. Understand how large a plant becomes before growing it by doing some research on the plant.
- Purchase some soil from a lawn and garden store or online. There are many types of soil on the gardening market. Doing some research about what chemicals are in the soil to help your plant thrive will help you make the decision on which soil to use.
- Place the plant in the pot with the soil and begin caring for it. Apply the appropriate amount of water each day. Do not overwater the plant. When water is left standing in a potted plant, it can cause fungus or plant diseases to occur.
