How to Maximize the Storage Space in Townhomes

How to Heat Townhomes

Heating a townhome can get very expensive if you use a central heating system. You can save money by using alternative methods to heating your townhome. You can also do some things to your townhouse to retain heat that can also help to keep down the cost of your heat bill.

Things You'll Need:

  • Portable heaters

  • Window and door weather stripping

  • Carpet

  • Air circulator

  1. Put a portable heater in each room of your townhome. Portable heaters are small and energy efficient and run of off electricity. You can purchase a new model with safety features, such as automatic shut off. The portable heater in each room of your townhome will significantly heat your townhome for a fraction of the cost.

  2. Use air circulators in addition to the portable heaters. The air circulators works similar to how a small portable fan does. They help to circulate the heat throughout your entire living area and also keep the heat from rising to the ceilings. To get the best usage out of the air circulator place about three feet from the portable heater.

  3. And carpet to your floor in your townhome. If you are not able to put down carpet, you can use throw rugs to cover up your hardwood or tile floors during the cold months. This helps to retain the heat, and gathers the warm air down closer to the ground instead of having it all rise to the ceiling.

  4. Apply window covering to all of your windows to help retain your heat. This is an inexpensive and quick fix that can be a benefit to the entire townhome.
