How to Increase a GMAT Score

Increasing a GMAT score is usually not that hard to do. Fortunatley, retaking the test is not as daunting as the first time. The questions are not the same, but the student will have a general idea of what to expect the second time around.

  • Sign up to take the GMAT again as soon as you are ready. You can take the GMAT five times a year and it is given once a month, so there is no rush. Go over your first GMAT results to see what you need to work on. Study for the GMAT a little each night to help increase your score.

  • Ask a friend who scored high on the GMAT for some study tips. You may even be able to have your friend tutor you a few times. Offer to pay for dinner if your friend agrees to help you study for the test.

  • Find out from your college advisor when the next GMAT class is being held. Most schools help students prepare for the GMAT by offering a class. If your school does not have a class, your advisor should be able to point you in the right direction to find one.

  • Look online to find for GMAT study materials. Search for student reviews to help you pick the best materials to buy. You can also ask your classmates or some of your professors for help finding the right GMAT study materials.

  • Start a small study group to prepare for the GMAT. Ask some of your friends who have already taken the GMAT to drop by one of the study meetings to give the group some pointers about what to prepare for on the test. You can also have the study group take a practice test and time it to help everyone prepare for the real GMAT.
