How to Install Virtual PC Software
Virtual PC provides the flexibility of using different operating systems without changing the system you normally use. When the operating systems are downloaded, they actually run in a virtual environment which allows you to use the software for limited options, including testing.
The good thing about Virtual PC is that it allows for the installation of different operating systems on your computer, without having to go through the process of removing the one you are currently using. Because they work virtually, no change is required. This is ideal for temporary usage, such as when they are required for testing. It has the added benefit of being free.
Installation instructions:
- Go to the Microsoft website and download the Virtual PC 2007 program there.
- When you hit the link, you will then need to double-click on the file for installation. You can then choose whatever location you plan to save the file to during the download process. Save it somewhere memorable, maybe even to the desktop.
- This will bring up the wizard. Once it begins, click "next". Then, you will have to accept the Terms of Service for the process to continue.
- You will then be prompted to enter your specific information, after you have clicked on "next". You will then need to determine which users you want able to use the software on your computer.
- Select "next" to determine where you want the files installed, and then complete the installation by clicking on "install."
