How to Install a Hama Car Television Aerial
To watch television in your car on a monitor, you need a television aerial installed. The aerial needs to be specifically designed to pick up television broadcasts. Hama offers television aerials, or antennas, that can be easily installed on your vehicle.
Items Needed
- Hama television car aerial
- clean towels
- glass cleaner
- Park your vehicle on a flat level surface. Turn off the the engine. Apply the emergency brake.
- Use glass cleaner to thoroughly wash the back windshield on your car. Make sure to get all the dirt and remove any smears or smudges.
- Dry and buff your rear windshield with clean towels.
- Choose a location for your television aerial. The best place to install your antenna is in the center of the rear windshield along the bottom portion. If you have a third brake light located here, be sure not to cover it up.
- Peel the adhesive backing off your television aerial's base.
- Press the antenna onto the back windshield firmly. Make sure the aerial wire is pointing up.
- Open the trunk of your car.
- Run the wire for the television antenna into the water channel. This is next to the weather stripping. Route the wire over the weather stripping and along the bottom of the package shelf.
- Pull the backs of the rear seat forward.
- Tuck the wire between the seat and the plastic door-sill trim. Continue tucking this wire into the door-sill trim all the way to the front of the vehicle where the television receiver is located.
- Connect the antenna wire to the television receiver. Check the instruction manual to find out where exactly the aerial wire is connected to the receiver.
